Our Commitment to the Environment

We believe that active and responsible citizenship can make a successful company even stronger. We are committed to sustainable development through environmental protection, social responsibility, and economic progress. We are dedicated to minimizing the impact of our actions on future generations and on the environment.

In the development, manufacturing, and delivery of our products, it is our policy to:

  • Reduce waste, reuse materials, and recycle whenever possible in both our office and manufacturing operations
  • Promote awareness of sustainable products and practices by working with partner organizations that share our green values
  • Encourage our employees to be responsible, green citizens
  • Proactively collaborate with environmental leaders and our community at large to develop new and innovative environmental initiatives

Giving Back

Since we started Koko Kai Yogurt we have always supported efforts to reduce our dependence on single-use plastics. We want to do our part to prevent further damage to our environment and our waterways, which is why all of our delicious dairy free yogurts are bottled exclusively in reusable glass jars. We encourage customers to return their empty bottles to us, so we can wash, sanitize and reuse them, thereby not only reducing the amount of trash headed to the landfill, but also cutting pollution associated with shipping these containers thousands of miles across the ocean.

Starting in April 2021 Koko Kai Yogurt has implemented a policy of donating 100% of tips received at Farmers Market and 50 cents for every glass jar returned to us, for environmental groups that directly work toward keeping our planet and our islands cleaner, greener, and more pollution free. We are currently partnering up with 808 Cleanups, Aloha Ocean Plus and the Oahu chapter of the Surfrider Foundation who both work hard to protect and our ocean, waves and beaches.
