Here at Koko Kai Yogurt, we work with local farmers to procure the freshest local ingredients available. This weekend we took a trip up to the North shore of Oahu to meet with Saili Levi, the owner of Laie Vanilla Company, to stock up on yummy beans and take a tour of his beautiful Vanilla farms.
Saili started farming vanilla orchids just three years ago, but in that time has been able to build one of the largest vanilla farms on the island. From the very first harvest, his delicious and fragrant vanilla beans became a huge success, and he is already expanding his farm to several times it’s current size. It was a pleasure to talk with Saili as we walked through the rows and rows of vines, teaching us the science of growing one of the world’s most sought after and expensive spices.
We are excited to partner up with Saili and the Laie Vanilla Company to bring you the first coconut yogurt on the market using the finest and freshest vanilla beans in the world, grown right here on Oahu.
